Recipe: Texas Skillet Cornbread for Game Day Parties

Today's post features a trendy Texas Skillet Cornbread Recipe for Game Day Parties with a big secret -- it's made from a box of Krusteaz Fire Roasted Cornbread & Muffin Mix. This mix is amazing because the chefs behind it are perfectionists who figured out the perfect combination of ingredients to make a game day party special.  The box includes a mix for the cornbread and an Elote style chili, lime, and cheese topping. I also love that this mix does not contain artificial flavors or artificial preservatives.

Recipe: Texas Skillet Cornbread for Game Day Parties
Ingredients
  • 1 box of Krusteaz Fire Roasted Cornbread & Muffin Mix
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise

Directions
1. Preheat the over to 375-degrees.

2. Lightly grease the cast iron skillet.

3. Stir together the water, butter, mayonnaise, and full box of cornbread mix until blended.

4. Slowly pour and spread the mixture into the cast iron skillet.

5. Bake for 25 to 28 minutes until a light golden brown. (We baked our cornbread for 25 minutes in a convection oven.)

6. Carefully remove from oven and sprinkle the Krusteaz seasoned cheese evenly over the cornbread.

7. Optionally, serve with chili or corn salsa.
