Recipe: How to Make Hard Boiled Eggs

Recipe: Hard Boiled Eggs
Directions:
1. Place a single layer of eggs in a pot of cold water.

2. Heat water and eggs to a boil. Once it reaches a boil, promptly remove the pot from the heat.

3. Let eggs stand in the water for 15 minutes.

4. Drain and then rinse with cold water.  Refrigerate until ready to use them.

Craft: Dye Easter Eggs
Purchase a box of Easter Egg Dye. We purchased a cheap box for 99-cents. Follow the instructions on the box.  We'll show an example of the process that we followed since they are all fairly similar.

1. Drop one dye tablet in a bowl with 5 ounces of warm water. Stir to help dissolve. This takes approximately 5 minutes.

2. After the tablets dissolve, stir in one teaspoon of white vinegar for each color.
 3. Place hard boiled eggs in each color.  Let them soak longer for darker and more vivid color.

 4. Let dry and then serve.  Refrigerate any unused eggs.
5. Optional: Color with crayons on the eggs. We drew Angry Birds Star Wars characters on our Easter eggs. My son loves R2Egg2 on his Easter eggs!
