(Hurry! Visit Before July 7th!): Mermaids are at SEALIFE Grapevine

In today's post, I will tell you about an amazing opportunity to create happy childhood memories with your children at SEALIFE Grapevine aquarium thanks to their magical Mermaid theme. You will have the chance to watch as mermaids perform underwater in the aquarium’s 160,000-gallon ocean tank.  When back on dry land, mermaids will host personal meet and greets, creating the perfect photo opportunity.  Let me share the details and few photos from our own visit!

Little ones will be mesmerized when they walk through SEALIFE Grapevine's iconic tunnel where sea life swims above, below, and next to them. As they come around the corner, they will see the Mermaid who swims to the window to blow bubbles, touch the window, and more. SEALIFE even offers a package where they will dress your little one in a mermaid tail, paint their face, and take them for a photo opportunity.  

My children have a large age gap, so it's sometimes tricky to find activities that they both enjoy. SEALIFE is one of our favorite attractions because it's fun for all of us. My toddler was mesmerized just looking at the sea life.  It feels magical to him. My older son still finds it mesmerizing to watch the sting rays, sharks, turtles and other animals. (Really, who doesn't?! I still love to watch the sea life!)  My older son has taken a bigger interest in learning more facts about the creatures. I love that he continues to learn more about the sea life there.  Despite our different ages, we all bond from the whimsical experience.  

On our most recent visit, my youngest became obsessed with the mermaids.  Here is a quick summary of the newest attraction:

"For the first time in the aquarium’s history, a magical mermaid show is at SEA LIFE Grapevine.  Watch as mermaids perform underwater in the aquarium’s 160,000-gallon ocean tank alongside sharks, sea turtles, and even sturgeon to amaze visitors of all ages every Thursday through Sunday starting June 20 - July 7.  

While back on dry land, guests can meet a mermaid when she sits upon her throne inside the aquarium.  This personal meet and greet offers a memorable photo opportunity and allows guests to pledge their love for the oceans. From recycling to reducing the use of plastic bags and straws, guests will be encouraged by the mermaids to love the ocean and all of their ocean friends.  

“SEA LIFE brings an ocean of fun to its guests every day, and now we are adding a bit of magic with these amazingly talented mermaids,” said Kelly Schwartz, General Manager at SEA LIFE Grapevine Aquarium. “Through this captivating underwater show, we hope to further instill a love and appreciation of our oceans with kids of all ages.” 

All mermaid appearances and meet and greets are included with the price of admission.  Mermaid dive shows will take place on June 20 - July 7 every Thursday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Mermaid meet and greets take place in the theater every Thursday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday from 11:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Mermaid makeover packages will be available for purchase on select dates and times.  Each mermaid makeover experience will include a meet and greet with one of the mermaids, a child mermaid tail, professional face painting, hair accessories and goody bag."

Let me share a few photos from our visit.  The mermaid in the tank was fabulous. She puts on a very nice show for everyone.  Also, a fun fact is that they didn't remove any of the sharks or other sea life from the tank!  She swims with all of the animals in their home at the aquarium!

They also have a lovely meet-and-greet with a mermaid. I love that the mermaid took the time to make a connection with each child. She chatted with them and provided autographs.  She was perfect!

In summary, our entire family loves SEALIFE Grapevine. It's the perfect destination for all ages.  The whimsical mermaid theme makes this a great time to visit. Be sure to take your camera to capture sparkling memories that last a lifetime!
