(Holiday Gift Guide) Malouf Bedding + 5 Tips to Help Parents to Sleep Better at Night!

The holiday shopping season is just around the corner! Actually, if you visit many of our local stores, you may be confused about whether it is Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas because items for all three holidays are currently for sale. It's sort of funny.  Seriously though, the holiday season is almost here and two of my favorite holiday gift ideas are Sleep and a New Comforter with Duvet Cover.  While sleep may not necessarily be an actual "gift", a cozy setup with a new comforter and duvet cover is a gift that may help to promote sleep. Personally, I recently tried the Malouf Down Alternative Comforter and Malouf Rayon from Bamboo Duvet Set These are game changers because they are so soft and warm for a good night of sleep.

As promised, let me share 5 tips to help parents to sleep better at night!

1. Use a heavy comforter or weighted blanket.

Many people find it soothing to sleep with a thick comforter or a weighted blanket. Personally, I switched to a thick comforter and super soft duvet cover by Malouf.  If you aren't familiar with the Malouf brand, let me tell you that this is one of my favorite brands for bedding.  I hope that you'll follow along as I go off on a tangent about how much I love the Malouf brand.

We are Texas transplants, but the Malouf company is located in our home town of Logan, Utah. The company has been around for 15 years and they have over 12,000 retail distributors of their products. They have grown over the years and employee many people in Cache Valley thanks to the popularity of their high quality product lines. Their company exudes the kindness of the Cache Valley community which is reflected in the products and customer service. For instance, Glassdoor ranks Malouf as the #8 best place to work. (Read more here!) The dedication to quality flows throughout the entire company and into the final products which is why my family loves this brand.

I also feel like we have stressed tested some of the Malouf brand products over the years such as their Sleep Tite Protectors on our mattresses. Our children have had their share of potty training accidents and stomach bugs, but the Malouf Sleep Tite Protectors had our backs -- they performed flawlessly as they protected our mattresses in stressful moments. The protectors were also relatively easy to clean.

Anyway, back to my tip about heavier blankets for a good night of sleep.  We personally use the Malouf Down Alternative Comforter and Malouf Rayon from Bamboo Duvet Set.  The comforter is thick, soft, and warm.  The duvet cover has an even softer texture which makes this comforter and duvet set the perfect combination for us.

2. Create a bedtime routine.

Many parenting books recommend bedtime routines for children, but I've also found that it's help for me to have a bedtime routine as an adult.  My typical routine includes washing my face, applying skincare products, stretching, and then reading a book on my Kindle.  Everyone has their own routine preferences, but if you are conscious about a calming routine, it may help you to sleep better.

3. Exercise regularly.

A good exercise routine may also improve the quality of your sleep. Morning workouts are the best. Personally, I have always been a regular when it comes to exercise, but fell out of practice during the latter part of my last pregnancy because I was not able to move around much. I then had surgeries shortly after my baby was born.  I fell out of practice. Once I returned to my regular exercise routine, I slept much better!

4. Avoid caffeine.

If you drink caffeine, try to minimize the amount that you consume and/or stop consuming caffeine after lunch so that it doesn't make it harder for you to fall asleep at night.

5. Use a fan or white noise machine.

This tip may not be for everyone, but it helps me and my youngest son.  There is something soothing about the white noise that helps us to sleep better.

I hope that some of our tips help you to sleep better at night. If you are like me, a good night of sleep is at the top of my wishlist.  The Malouf Down Alternative Comforter and Malouf Rayon from Bamboo Duvet Set are a wonderful holiday gift that exhausted parents will love.
