Recipe: Birthday Party Popcorn
- 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels (or 3 cups of already popped popcorn)
- 3 Tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup of M&M's candies
- 2 Tablespoons of rainbow sprinkles
- 1/3 cup of baking/melting chips in pink (or your favorite color)
Directions
- Pop the popcorn kernels in vegetable oil using a method of your choice. Personally, we added 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels and 3 Tablespoons of vegetable oil to a Whirly Pop which yielded approximately 3 cups of popcorn.
- Pour the popcorn into a single layer on parchment paper.
- Distribute the M&M's throughout the popcorn.
- Microwave the baking/melting chips for approximately 1 minute or until melted in a small ziploc bag. If they start to look like they are baking, add approximately 1/2 teaspoon of vegetable oil and mix into baking/melting chips. Once they are melted, use sharp scissors to snip a corner off of one of the corners of the bag and then drizzle it over the popcorn.
- Add the sprinkles to the mixture.
- Allow to cool before putting into a serving bowl or bags.
