This is a guest post by my son who created Minecraft brownie squares and green Rice Krispies squares with frosting for a birthday celebration. It was fun for family members to grab squares from the tray for a fun birthday treat. Who doesn't love bitesize treats?!
Let's start with the recipe for brownies.
Recipe: Brownies for Minecraft Squares
If you are creating a Minecraft cake that is made of different squares such as brownie squares, rice krispies squares, and more, this brownie recipe is great because they are a great consistency, easy to cut into squares (when cool), and taste delicious!

9. Cool for approximately 1 to 2 hours before cutting into squares for the Minecraft birthday cake creation.
Now let's move on to the recipe for the Rice Krispies squares. We made a half batch since we didn't want too many leftovers.
Recipe: Minecraft Rice Krispy Squares
Ingredients- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 package (5 ounces) Marshmallows
- 3 cups Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal
- 12 drops of green food coloring
Directions
2. Stir marshmallows in until completely melted. Remove from heat.
3. Stir in the Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal until well coated.
4. Using wax paper, press the mixture into an 8"x8" pan coated with cooking spray.
This recipe is best if served immediately or on the same day. If you want to save them for another day, be sure to wrap them well in plastic wrap and/or store them in a small air tight container.
Thanks to our guest contributor for this delicious and creative birthday treat!
