This is the Easy Way to Make Pumpkin Puree from a Pumpkin

Making pumpkin puree is easy! I buy pumpkin pie pumpkins early in the season and use them as early fall decorations and then bake and puree them for our Pumpkin Everything Baking Marathon! In today's post, I'll tell you how to make pumpkin puree from a pumpkin. (Note that I buy pumpkins that are labeled as Pumpkin Pie Pumpkins or Baking Pumpkins. I've seen them labeled both ways at local stores.)

How to Make Pumpkin Puree from a Real Pumpkin
1. Preheat oven to 350-degrees.

2. Cut pumpkin in half.

3. Remove the pumpkin seeds and pulp.

4. Cover each half of the pumpkin with foil and place on a cookie sheet for 1 hour or until tender.

5. Allow to cool slightly and then carefully scrape the contents into a bowl.

6. Puree in a blender.

7. Strain to remove any large strings.

8. Refrigerate and use within a few days or freeze.
