DIY Dishwasher Tablets: Make Your Own Dishwasher Detergent Tablets
This DIY project to create your own dishwasher detergent tablets is super easy. We've been using these for the past few months and love them!
Supplies:
- 1/2 cup of Borax Laundry Booster*
- 1/2 cup Washing Soda*
- 2 Tablespoons Kosher Salt*
- 2 1/2 Tablespoons of Baking Soda
- 1/4 cup White Vinegar
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons of Water
- 1 teaspoon of Lemon Juice
- Optional: rubber gloves are recommended
1. Mix the dry ingredients together, including the borax, washing soda, kosher salt, and baking soda).
2. Carefully and slowly add the vinegar.
3. Add the water and lemon juice.
4. Put on rubber gloves and mix everything using your hands until well mixed.
5. Press the mixture into silicon mini muffin molds and allow to dry overnight. Carefully remove and store in a glass jar with lid. If you do not have silicon mini muffin molds, it's fine to use a regular silicon muffin mold and just break them in half after they dry. I used one from a silicon mini muffin mold above and broke it in half.

There are tons of recipes for dishwasher tablets. The one above is the recipe that I personally use and was motivated partly by wanting to use multi-purpose ingredients, i.e., I use the Epsom Salts for bath fizzies, Borax for pest control, etc.
