DIY Wonderful Halos Tree and Presents!

Move over fresh fruit baskets! A Wonderful Halos Tree and Gifts is the latest way to deliver healthy fresh fruit to friends, family, and co-workers!  While we love a good fruit basket, this Wonderful Halos Tree and Gifts project sets the bar higher for how to share fresh fruit throughout the holiday season.  In today's post, I'll walk you through the steps for this fabulous DIY project that is courtesy of Wonderful Halos and Jodi Levine (@supermakeit)

First, let's start with the difficulty level of this DIY craft. Personally, I would rate it as easy. My family decided to attempt this craft after dinner one evening and found it to be an easy project for everyone to contribute. This includes a curious kindergartener who convinced us to deliver the Wonderful Halos Tree to his teacher because he was so proud of our work!  This is also our go-to project for holiday parties where we need to bring food to impress!

Project: DIY Wonderful Halos Tree and Presents!

Time estimate: 15 minutes

Supplies

  • Wonderful Halos mandarins
  • small cake stand or platter
  • adhesive dots
  • toothpicks
  • snips of greenery (such as arborvitae, boxwood, or pine)
  • ribbon or twine
  • scissors
  • tags (optional)

Directions
1. To make the first row: Place an adhesive dot on the bottom of a Wonderful Halos mandarin and adhere it to the center of your cake stand. Place glue dots on the bottom of six more Halos mandarins and place them on the cake stand to surround the one in the center.

To make the second row: Grab 7 more Halos mandarins and place glue dots on the sides of six mandarins to adhere them in a ring around the others. Place a few glue dots on the mandarins in the first row and place the new row on top, turned, so that the rows are staggered.

2. To make the third row: Use 5 toothpicks to poke 5 Halos mandarins together into a circle and place on top.

3. To make fourth row: Use 3 toothpicks to poke 3 Halos mandarins together into a triangle, and place on top.

To make the top: Poke a piece of greenery into the top of a single Halos mandarin and place it on top.

4. To make presents: Tie thin ribbons or twine around a Halos mandarin and knot. Tuck in a little sprig of greenery.

5. Optionally: Tie a tag to your Halos mandarin present and use it as a place card!

Here is a photo of our family's creation.

We thought that the project was fantastic. However, if you have an energetic kindergartener that is eager to help and want to make the project easier for them to pitch in too, we recommend skipping the glue dots and instead using toothpicks for the entire craft.  The original instructions are great, but that pivot to using toothpicks was easier for his little hands!

We love how it turned out and plan to make more Wonderful Halos Trees for parties throughout the holiday season!

We hope that you enjoy this festive
Halos Tree and Presents project! This show-stopping DIY project is sure to be the hit of many parties. Thanks to Wonderful Halos for allowing us to share their project with all of you!
