In today's post, I'm excited to connect you with the latest exclusive series that is streaming on Pure Flix starting on Ferbuary 24th - A Thousand Tomorrows!   I'll also tell you more about Pure Flix, share information about this love story for the ages, and host a giveaway for one lucky winner to receive a 3-month subscription to Pure Flix!

If you aren't familiar with Pure Flix, it's an amazing streaming service that has a great selection of Christian television series and movies. My family loves Pure Flix. Today's movie is just one example of the quality shows on Pure Flix. They have hundreds of shows for adults and children.  While I love many of the movies, my boys will tell you that VeggieTales rocks their world! We all love Pure Flix. We hope that you will give it a try and end up loving it too!

Here is a quick overview of the series "Karen Kingsbury's A Thousand Tomorrow that is the latest AFFIRM Originals show:

"The six-episode series from AFFIRM Originals premieres the first two episodes on Friday, February 24, with new episodes following every Friday. The series is about Cody Gunnar, a nationally-renowned bull rider who is cocky, brash and a legend among his peers. On track to the top, Cody has rejected everything about his past – his famous father, hurting mother and every woman who ever came along. His heart only has room for his younger brother, Carl Joseph. That’s when barrel racer Ali Daniels enters his life. Only God knows how many tomorrows they will have together. Can Cody and Ali make the most of their time in the dangerous and competitive rodeo world?"

This story comes from #1 New York Times best-selling author Karen Kingsbury and reminds us that only God knows how many tomorrows we have left.  Here is a link to the trailer:

The movie cast includes Colin Ford (Daybreak, Upcoming THE HILL, CAPTAIN MARVEL), Rose Reid (SWEET, SWEET SUMMERTIME, A WELCOME HOME CHRISTMAS), Cole Sibus (Stumptown, SPARE ROOM), Anne Leighton (NCIS, GOD’S NOT DEAD: A LIGHT IN DARKNESS), Kate Easton (FAITH UNDER FIRE), KC Clyde (Yellowstone, YES DAY) and CK Bolado. The show was directed by Kohl Glass and Cassidy Lunnen.

Personally, we had the opportunity to take a watch Episode two. Here is an overview:

"As Ali’s health declines, her determination to keep competing catches Cody’s eye. What will her stubbornness to pursue her dreams cost?"

Here is a quick overview of the highlights in this episode:

  • "Flashback to Cody in high school where everyone assumes he’s like his dad and wants to play football.

  • Cody and Carl Joseph bond over games and playing catch in the front yard.

  • Ali gets sicker and her mom, Sarah, calls her dad, Daryl, to help convince Ali to get medical attention.

  • Ali invites Cody to Cowboy Church.

  • Sarah wants more for Ali than just the rodeo circuit and pressures her to take a break to experience a “normal life.”

  • Both Trey and Cody are pursuing Ali, causing a rift in their friendship.

  • Cody’s father, Mike, keeps trying to get in touch with him but Cody resists.

  • Ali discovers she needs a pulmonary transplant and has to consider quitting barrel racing.

  • Ali’s sister, Ana, died as a child."

This episode highlights chronic illness and the tool that it takes on everyone. It also focuses on legacy and stepping out of a parents' shadow to pursue your dreams! Overall, I thought that the series was compelling and one of the best shows that I've watched in a long time!  I love the characters and acting because they do a great job of making you feel connected with the emotions and situation.

These are some of the bible versus that I thought about when I reflected on the show:

  • Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. – Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)

  • Jesus’s Birth – Luke 2 (NIV)

  • Jesus calms the storm – Matthew 4 (NIV)

  • Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3 (NIV)
