You'll Want to See RALLY ROAD RACERS with your Family in Theaters on May 12th + Try our RALLY ROAD RACERS Sandwich!

In today's post, I'm excited to tell you about the new RALLY ROAD RACERS movie from Viva Kids that hits theaters nationwide on May 12th! I'll also share a fun meal idea to enjoy before you go to the theater - RALLY ROAD RACERS Sandwiches!  (Spoiler alert - These sub sandwiches have cucumber wheels and are almost as cute as the movie!)

Viva Kids is off to the races! The Los Angeles-based distributor will release the animated family adventure RALLY ROAD RACERS in theaters nationwide May 12!  

RALLY ROAD RACERS is a fast-paced animated comedy that reminds us that it’s not the size of the competitor that matters, it’s the size of the dream.  It's the perfect movie for families to enjoy together because it's an engaging and fast-paced movie that is so good that it goes by quickly! It also provides an opportunity to encourage your children to discuss obstacles and perseverance!

Here is the overview: Zhi, a rookie race car driver, gets the opportunity to compete against the reigning champion of the rally car circuit. With help from a former driver-turned-mechanic, Zhi must overcome treacherous terrain, rival racers, and unexpected obstacles to prove he has what it takes to be the next great racer. 

This movie was written and directed by Ross Venokur (Charming). RALLY ROAD RACERS features the voices of Jimmy O. Yang (“Silicon Valley”), J.K. Simmons (Whiplash), Chloe Bennet (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), Lisa Lu (Crazy Rich Asians), Catherine Tate (Monster Family), and John Cleese (Trolls).

To add to the RALLY ROAD RACERS movie fun, we have a fun DIY meal idea that kids will love!  That is, RALLY ROAD RACERS Sandwiches!  Our recipe is below. It's easy to substitute the meat with hummus or other sandwich favorites, but my boys love the combination mentioned below!

Recipe: RALLY ROAD RACERS Sandwich

Ingredients

• 1 large sub sandwich roll
• 2 slices of provolone cheese
• 5 slices of your favorite lunch meat
• 1/4 cup shredded lettuce
• 3 slices of tomato
• 1 cucumber (to make 4 slices to look like wheels on your sandwich)
• 4 toothpicks
• Optional: Print a RALLY ROAD RACERS character and tape it to a toothpick to add to the fun sandwich!

Directions

1. Build your sandwich by adding the cheese and lunchmeat to the roll. 

2. Toast your sandwich until warm and the edges of the bread look lightly toasted.

3. Adhere the 4 cucumber slices to the sandwich using toothpicks to make it look like a car!

4. Optionally: Print a RALLY ROAD RACERS Character and tape it to a toothpick to stick to the top of the sandwich and/or print a race strip to wrap around the sandwich!

5. Vroom! Enjoy immediately!
